Growing Curiosity:

For those familiar with the Texas State campus, the name Shannon Gaga is not that uncommon as that name has been gaining popularity steadily over the course of the semester. For those completely foreign to the name, it refers to the nickname given to freshman student, Shannon Cantu. After an article appeared in the University Star on March 24, Cantu saw an increase in her alter-ego's local fame. That momentum carried through May, as increased numbers of students on campus can be heard discussing her popularity, or at least aware of who she is.

This phenomenom was one that we (Chase Birthisel and Taylor Hays) felt needed further investigation. In particular, we wanted to gauge the campus pulse on the issue and see how students and teachers were responding to Cantu.
